[Question] How would one maximize good done with life insurance?

So, hypothetically, suppose that one had realized that with the amount of money that they make, they could collect more from life insurance than they could through working. And suppose that one strongly suspected that they would not live much longer than their currently sick and aged parents, though one was oneself relatively young and so could get a good deal on life insurance. And suppose that one wanted to do the most good that they could with their life, no matter what that meant doing or sacrificing. The catch is, that does not include abandoning obligations to family, as in this hypothetical scenario this is considered an unacceptable moral wrong and so is not an option.Of course, a term life insurance policy would be the best route. After two years, those cover death from basically any cause. But it’s tricky and I could use some help from objective people on how to best solve this particular hypothetical puzzle.A thirty-year term policy seems best given that I am essentially certain that both my parents will not be around after that long, and it is significantly less expensive than an equivalent whole life policy, so on the balance the very slim potential of the parents living longer seems like it’s worth it. I make about $15 per hour and am not in a position where career advancement is likely so the budget for insurance isn’t unlimited, especially given that support must currently be given to parents. I’ve already gotten one for half a million. I sat down and calculated it: if I could do my best year of giving for the rest of my life, that is about how much I would wind up giving total. But I would hate for it to have been possible for me to, say, double the amount that this winds up doing but to have foolishly missed some way to do it. I have been considering getting a second insurance policy, if that is possible. The timing is a question of course. Perhaps I could get it once my parents are no more, then wait the two year waiting period. Lots of stuff to consider and I welcome anyone’s guidance. This is very important, of course, so I don’t want to mess it up. A small mistake or missed opportunity with this could mean a large amount of good not done.

I don’t think this is very clear about what decision is being made or what the question is.

could collect more from life insurance than they could through working. Weird comparison. The collection goes to different people, so they’re not the same dimension. More importantly, there’s very little reason not to do both.
